What is better than a day in Venice? A week! And what is even better than a week in Venice? A month! If you are looking for things to do in Venice for a month, be sure to check out the options that St. Mark’s Basilica has to offer.
The basilica is one of the most important churches in Venice and it offers visitors an impressive variety of activities and attractions. From its incredible architecture to its rich history, there is no lack of things to see and do at St. Mark’s Basilica.
Some of the attractions that visitors can enjoy include admiring the ornate ceilings and columns, touring the museum, visiting the treasury, taking part in a mass or hearing a sermon. How to reach-
Take the water bus from Piazzale Roma. This costs €5 per person and takes about 25 minutes to reach St. Mark’s Basilica. Alternatively, take the vaporetto line number 1 or 2 which cost €2.50 each way and take about 15 minutes to get there. The basilica is open daily from 7am to 6pm, but please note that it closes for lunch between 12pm and 1pm, so it is best to visit during these times if you want to avoid queues.

How to reach-
To reach Canal Grande from the city center, take the Venezia Mestre subway station and exit on Rialto. Walk south down the canal for about 10 minutes until you reach the small square at the end where you'll see a sign pointing to Canal Grande. The walk is beautiful, but can be hot and crowded in summer. It's also worth checking out Santa Maria della Salute (the church), San Giorgio Maggiore (the large cathedral), and Doge's Palace on your way.
Venice Lido-

To reach it, take the 1 or 2 line buses from San Marco or Piazza San Marco and get off at the Cipro stop. From there, walk north along the canal until you reach the bridge. If you're feeling energetic, you can also take a water taxi from any of Venice's many ports.
Gallerie dell’Accademia-
The Accademia Gallery is one of the most famous art galleries in Venice. It was founded in 1563 by the Grand Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici and has since been home to some of the world's most renowned painters and sculptors. The gallery spans over two floors and includes paintings dating back to the late Middle Ages, as well as works by Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, Giorgione, Canaletto and other famed artists.
